Community dialogue intervention to stop waste disposal into Rivers in the community
by Community members (Civil society organization)
Objective: plastics and other waste products which are not well disposed, end up in nearby water bodies like streams, rivers etc. These rivers makeup the ocean and seas. This presents oceans and seas with plastics and toxins which endangers the aquatic animals and even results to extinction. This is why a commitment to train community volunteers is paramount. The community volunteers will go to households in their community to teach people how to properly dispose waste and not to dispose into waterbodies like rivers, which flow into oceans.

Implementation Methodology:training community volunteers who teach community members proper waste disposal, especially not into river. Sensitizing the community members, through community dialogues and behavioral change communication.

Selecting community volunteers who go into their various communities to educate their people.

Training and empowering community Volunteers

Follow-up Mechanism:

monthly followup,by monitoring the available aquatic animals, monitoring water toxicity/acidity in the community and going to nearby Hospitals to monitor inpatient attendance due to water related illnesses

Governance: All of the above will be conducted in accordance to the state government program protocol.
