Within the framework of european public aquaria a group was formed and lead by the Haus des Meeres.
This group aims at breeding more marine ornamental Fish species and at putting their keeping on a more sustainable basis.
Joint breeding efforts where fish fry is parted between breeding locations and subjected to different treatments are planned.
Data shall be generated and collected and this information shall be liberally shared among professionals and amateurs in dedicated meetings.

Increase scientific knowledge, develop research capacity and transfer marine technology, taking into account the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission Criteria and Guidelines on the Transfer of Marine Technology, in order to improve ocean health and to enhance the contribution of marine biodiversity to the development of developing countries, in particular small island developing States and least developed countries
