General Objective:Support 6 Western African States (Cabo Verde, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Senegal and Mauritania) to implement actions to eliminate subsidies that harm the sustainable management of fisheries resources and threaten food security and the livelihoods of artisanal fishing communities.
SO1: Analyze the impacts and effects of trade subsidies and trade-related in the management of fisheries resources in West Africa;
SO2: Establish mechanisms for consultation on subsidies in the fisheries in West Africa, at national and regional level;
S03:Implement a regional-level action plan on trade subsidies in order to achieve SDG 14.6
Target countries: Cabo-Verde, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mauritania and Senegal
Result 1: The various stakeholders have a good understanding of the impacts and effects of subsidies in the fisheries sector
Result 2: Consultation frameworks on subsidies in the fisheries sector are functional with the participation of all stakeholders
Result 3: The national and regional action plans for the elimination of trade subsidies that harm the sustainable management of fishery resources, food security and sustainable livelihoods of artisanal fishing communities implemented.

Proposal of actions and instruments to be implemented at the international level under the auspices of the WTO, UNCTAD, FAO and UNDP for the effective elimination of trade or trade-related subsidies that lead to overcapacity in fisheries and the overexploitation of fisheries resources
Conduct 6 country studies in the West African region on the impacts of subsidies in the sustainable management of fisheries resources
Analysis of certain forms of fisheries subsidies from third countries accessing fisheries resources in the countries of the West African Eco region
