As a follow-up to the inaugural training of the Aruba Centre of Excellence (COE) for the Sustainable Development of SIDS (which was a three-day training for SIDS policy-makers in November 2016 that focused on "Building Roadmaps for Sustainable Development") seven of the participating SIDS will receive in-country technical assistance (TA) in 2017.
The TA will be offered by TNO Caribbean, an applied research institution focused on transitions to sustainability, and a key partner of the COE. The missions will focus on supporting SIDS policy-makers with roadmaps on topics in sustainable development that are key to SIDS and beneficial to their oceans, such as sustainable tourism, public-private partnerships and renewable energy.
