Promote public policy and raise international awareness on the important of the Ocean and human health

Acknowledging the oceans as a source of well-being and health, Portugal as a country with a privileged relationship with the ocean proposes to implement public initiatives (such as the Oceans Meeting 2017) and policies that value this relationship and contribute to the well-being and health of an active society.
Progress reports
Increase scientific knowledge, develop research capacity and transfer marine technology, taking into account the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission Criteria and Guidelines on the Transfer of Marine Technology, in order to improve ocean health and to enhance the contribution of marine biodiversity to the development of developing countries, in particular small island developing States and least developed countries
