Review of Hector's and Maui dolphin Threat Management Plan
by New Zealand Department of Conservation and Ministry for Primary Industries (Government)
The Hector's and Māui dolphin Threat Management Plan will be reviewed in 2018. The plan identifies human-induced threats to the dolphins and strategies to mitigate those threats. The plan is reviewed approximately every 5 years.

A Māui dolphin Research Advisory Group was been established in 2014 to develop and support research priorities to ensure the Government has the most credible and robust research information at hand to make informed decisions on the Māui dolphins recovery.

The Group also communicates information, and aids community and stakeholder involvement and engagement in managing the recovery of Māui dolphin.
