Lady Elliot Island Commitment to Renewable Energy
by Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort (Private sector)
Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is committed to continuing the education of our guests and crew utilising the improvements in the islands sustainability initiatives as living working examples.

We will maintain and grow our partnerships with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Great Barrier Reef Foundation, Queensland Parks & Wildlife Services, Greenfleet and Tourism & Events Queensland to enhance the stewardship of the Great Barrier Reef and coral reefs worldwide.

We aim to continue our current mission to raise awareness of the issues that are directly a result of Global Warming and Climate Change and how education can deliver hope for the future of the whole planet.

Over the past 8 years we have significantly reduced our reliance on fossil fuels to supply power to the island Eco Resort. By December 2018 we will aim to have 90% of the resorts energy powered by renewable energy. By December 2020 we will aim to be using 100% renewable energy.
