Managing and conserving Indonesia's rich marine coastal biodiversity through MPAs
by Wildlife Conservation Society (Non-governmental organization (NGO))
Helping to develop 500,000 ha of new MPAs in West Nusa Tenggara, North Sulawesi and North Maluku provinces, contributing to the Indonesian government's own commitment of reaching 20,000,000 ha by 2020.

WCS approaches MPA development through a collaborative process with local communities and local government agencies. Ecological and socioeconomic baseline data is collected to ensure both social and ecological benefits can be measured and tracked.
