Conservation and management of biodiversity through sustainable production and efficient governance mechanism in the Bio-corridor.

On one hand, activities to conserve coastal marine species as the blue crab -Cardisoma crassum- and the Pato Maria -Dendrocygma sp.- and on the other hand, activities to conserve marine-salt sources as a conservation object. The projects promotes the importance to maintain the salt because it is part of the mangroves ecosystem; and also because artisanal salt activities are the basis of ancestral practices that generates income to several families. The outputs for species conservation will be achieved through: the conservation and restoration of ecosystems that form their habitat, alliances with other actors and campaigns to prevent pollution in priority areas (salt pools, beaches and estuaries). This action, while supporting the conservation of ecosystems, helps to improve the quality of the Products with Territorial Identity -products from biodiversity (salt safety and landscape beauty for tourism).

The project pursues also to promote two Products with Territorial Identity: Tourism and Gourmet Salt, which allows improving the income of participating population and thus avoiding the pressure on natural resources. This goal will be achieved through the recovery and improvement of infrastructure and equipment, and the massive promotion of Products with Territorial Identity through the use of social networks and media.
