Empowering international sustainable development actions through science-driven management
by EnScope (Non-governmental organization (NGO))
Local actors of sustainable development are commonly full of great ideas but lack appropriate data and resources to ensure that the measures they define and implement are successful and effective. Conversely, scientists worldwide are conducting research to further understand our social, economical and natural environment, but their data and findings rarely find their way to the decision makers responsible for defining and implementing management measures.

EnScope will support and empower international and local sustainable development actions by i) developing comprehensive, integrated and multidisciplinary scientific research/monitoring programmes with the clear objective of developing efficient management measures, ii) supporting such actions through the selection and recruitment of motivated and appropriately qualified volunteers, students, researchers and professionals, iii) promoting local capacity building through the exchange of knowledge between experienced students/researchers and local communities.

Partnerships are currently being developed in Belgium, Belize, Greece, Peru and Singapore, but more countries will follow.
