Sustainable Planet Ocean
by Planet without Frontiers® Institution (Non-governmental organization (NGO))
Planet without Frontiers as an institution has a comprehensive research & development focus with respect to the planet oceans. We wish to continue our support to better global village along with implementing the SDGs. The important areas are the development of empowering environment for focused communities to work with relevant policy planners and adopt sustainable resilient livelihoods and resources are reduced to a sustainable level.
It has been observed that coastal populations dependent on these resources are impacted by the climate vulnerabilities like sea level rise, sea intrusion, prolonged droughts, local floods and frequent storm surges and cyclones. The destructive harvesting of marine and coastal living resources; ecosystem services lack of knowledge; lesser understanding of climate change impacts; land based polluting and destroying activities; and the prevailing extreme poverty of certain segments of the coastal population have been recognized as the causes and barricades for sustainable and resilient development.
Objectives:
1. To keep a positive capacity building approach of coastal resource managers focused learning programs.
2. To support the sustainable development and protection of marine and coastal ecosystem in collaboration with relevant governmental and intergovernmental entities.
3. To provide and share research expertise with public and private sector especially ocean related for safer oceans of the planet.
4. To help devise sustainable strategies for indigenous and local coastal inhabitants to get hands on modern equipment training and scientific know-how for better coexistence with marine creatures.
