The Explorers Club Ocean related Grants

The Explorers Club voluntarily commits to awarding two types of grants in Ocean and Marine Sciences.

1. The Explorers Club will grant one or more awards to explorers conducting field research in the marine sciences including but not limited to the following topics - marine mammals, fish , ocean health, coral health etc. Our grants broadly address SDG 14 goals in that we annually award the best proposals in the Marine Sciences across a broad array on Ocean/marine disciplines. Awards range from $500 US up to $5000 US.

2. The Explorers Club will grant one or more Rolex Explorers Awards of up to $10,000 US to at least one Marine Science research proposal each year for the next three years.

In accordance with the goals of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission Criteria and Guidelines on the Transfer of Marine Technology in order to improve ocean health, our grant recipients are required to write reports detailing their experiences, data and findings. Many of our grant recipients publish their research in peer reviewed scientific journals, present at professional conferences and community outreach programs.
