Human Rights on the Hill International Human and Peoples Rights Law Program

Human Rights on the Hill is an annual educational program coordinated by the International Human and Peoples Rights Law Program offers week long course on Capitol Hill. The course will feature panels around Oceans and human rights. The program is geared toward educating youth and civil society in participation in the UN global human rights machinery to promote and protect fundamental freedoms including access to information and participation in decision-making of national and global policymaking. The annual course is between May - August with special focus on UN years and anniversaries of international human rights declarations, covenants and conventions with focus on important initiatives at the UN Human Rights Council and also UN General Assembly. The goal is to ensure U.S. participation in the Universal Periodic Review for human rights and the UN High Level Political Forum for the SDGs for Economic, Social & Cultural Rights.
