In collaboration with the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs, Ministry of Marine & Fisheries and district governments Republic of Indonesia, ADUPI Indonesian Plastic Recycling Association and other stakeholders we organise Solid Waste Management Symposia throughout Indonesia.
Goal: Improving Waste Management & Less waste to ocean
These 2-day symposia focus on:
- Identification waste issues and situation at each location together with participants (local government, universities, grass root organisations, industry/companies/tourism stakeholders)
- Engaging local stakeholders in Indonesia's National Plan of Action on Marine Plastics Debris 2017-2025
- Offering practical solutions such as waste education in schools and establishment of school waste banks, direct connections to the Indonesian recycling network, 'know your waste' , technical solutions for local recycling
- Raising awareness & human behaviour change towards littering and reducing single use packaging and other materials
- Raising awareness about waste sources from rivers to ocean https://www.theoceancleanup.com/sources/
- Formulation of short-term feasible action plans
- Connect local stakeholders to the larger Indonesian Waste Platform network
- Support the establishment of Uncommon Collaborations
- Continuous follow-up support and promotion continuous active local stakeholder involvement
On 7 & 8 November 2017 we organised Solid Waste Management Symposium Toraja in Rantepao, Toraja Utara, Sulawesi

These symposia are based on Collective Approach and are open to any stakeholder willing to contribute regarding expertise and knowledge sharing
