commitment towards marine debris free beaches along the coast ;commitment to monthly cleanups
by Coast and Reefs Club (Scientific community)
as coast and reefs conservation club we are committed towards making the coastal environment clean and free from predisposed pollution, this in turn helps to keep the aqua based organism especially sea food and surrounding vegetation alive and free from physico-chemical stress caused by such pollutants.this we usually do and we are committed to continue by regular beach cleanup of debris composed of plastic bottles, plastic cans, plastic carrier bags, flip flops and the glasses.
for the follow up all these items are usually separated and categorized as plastic bottles and cans, petty plastics, flip flop and glasses. their numbers counted individually and tabulated before they are individually weighed with all results tabulated as well
all these procedures above are usually carried out under the supervision of the chair of marine and fisheries department within pwani university where our club is based with the assistance of club officials
