Beach Clean pUmP
by The Green Circle Environmental Company (Non-governmental organization (NGO))
As part of International Coastal Clean up Day, the Green Circle will take approximately 300 volunteers to the shore of Scotland Bay on the western peninsula of Trinidad to complete the data collection exercise to document the marine litter woes that face the country.

Volunteers will pick up and record each piece of unnatural material found on the beach and have it properly disposed of subsequently.

The information will form part of a national report to be sent to the Ministry of Planning as a guide to policy implementation based on the findings.

This project has been on going and is in it's 4th year, thus trends can be identified in the types and frequency of litter collected, and as such the necessary mechanisms can be put in place to combat the major problems.
