Projeto Verde Mar de limpeza subaqutica (Verde Mar Project - Diving against Marine Debris)
by Projeto Verde Mar (Private sector)
The objective of the Projeto Verde Mar is to raise people's ecological awareness regarding the production and disposal of waste that has as its final destination the ocean. We have gathered divers and volunteers to carry out underwater cleanups, along with environmental education and communication actions to raise awareness among the population. Concomitantly, we conduct scientific research on marine litter to generate knowledge about this important issue and check the efficiency of this kind of activities. Finally, we produce a documentary film about this activities and the marine litter impact on the biodiversity.
