Rotaract Club of Triolet has launched a massive awareness campaign - No to littering of Cigarette Butts! since two months.Since that time, we have shared many posters and posts in respect to the negative impact of throwing cigarette butts in the environment, on streets, in water drains as well as on beaches and in rivers. A cleaning campaign was organized at the beach of Pointe aux Biches whereby members collected so many cigarette butts. Many smokers are not aware that these cigarette butts are dangerous, non- biodegradable and extremely toxic for the environment, drainage networks and our eco system. We have appointed three beauty pageants to collaborate with us to bring more awareness to the people. In December 2018 we shall organised a walk in the region of Triolet to make people aware of the dangers of littering of cigarette butts. We shall conduct talks sessions with youth and adults in respect of the awareness campaign and in January 2019 we shall organized a collection of cigarette butts campaign at three beaches with scouts, members, rotaractors, rotarians and the public. After the cleaning session we shall inaugurate 3 signage boards of the three beaches with the saying "The beach is not an ashtray please take your cigarettes butts with you after smoking". All cigarette butts collected will not be disposed, we shall clean it the shall organize DIY sessions to use these cigarette butts to do art works.
