The Partnership has downscaled climate model projections for future coral bleaching conditions. This high-resolution (4 km) dataset enables consideration of coral reef climate change refugia in management planning, and also has application in vulnerability assessment and adaptation planning. The Partnership has further developed a Guide to Resilience Assessment of Coral Reefs for Decision Support, providing reef planners and managers guidance on how management actions can be designed and implemented to protect and enhance resilience of reefs.

A report on The Coral Reef Economy was launched at a high-level side event during the Our Ocean Conference in Bali, Indonesia, October 2018. The report shows that a shift to improved coral reef health from one of further decline in the period to 2030 could unlock an additional $37 billion ($2.6 billion per annum) in Indonesia and an additional $35 billion ($2.5 billion per annum) in Mesoamerica in three key reef dependent sectors: tourism; commercial fisheries; and coastal development.
